What kind of a man, husband and father is Jaan Kaplinski, one of the most known and productive Estonian writers, poets and thinkers? What lies behind his poetry and writings? A close insight into Kaplinski's world describes one day in the writer's life, from dusk till down, full of daily activities in Mutiku farm, including discussions about poetry, language and freedom of creation during the Soviet era and today. There are pivotal times in Kaplinski's life right now since he is looking for inner freedom while following the example of Taoism. His thoughts and flashbacks of the past including simple farmwork, interviews with his family members and samples of poetry attempt to find answers to the abovementioned questions, depicting the intimate side of Kaplinski in his own environment.
